Pengersick Castle
Praa Sands, nr Penzance, Cornwall

"The most haunted location in the UK"
The Ghost Club Society 2001

Pengersick has always had a reputation for magic, mystery, sorcery and particularly, ghosts. There are said to be more than twenty separate presences at Pengersick Castle including: a ghostly 14th century monk; a 13 year old girl who danced to her death off the battlements and still tries to swing people around; a four year old boy who tugs at ladies dresses; the re-enactment of a medieval murder; a man seen swaying in the corner of a room; a young lady lying on a bed under spectral covers; a woman seen walking through a wall and pacing the room; a woman stabbed to death in the castle; another woman who was beaten to death in the haunted bedroom; a man stabbed and strangled in 1546 in front of a fireplace; several previous owners; a ghostly cat and dog; John Milliton, a wicked man, claimed to be an alchemist and practice in the black arts, who acts in the castle tower; and there is even believed to be a demon captured in the tower bedroom's fireplace and more besides.

It is undoubtably a very haunted place, where strange things happen all the time.
Many people have claimed to have encountered some of the ghostly figures. Countless people have seen or photographed strange orbs of light. people inevitably experience strange feelings: of being watched; charged electric atmospheres; being tired and drained; shivers; tingling sensations; fear; dizziness; of not being alone and much more. NEarly everybody visiting Pengersick picks up on its unique atmosphere. Electrical malfunctions are common place, including: cameras malfunctioning or photographs never coming out; new batteries draining instantly, Dictaphones failing to run; video cameras refusing to work and so on. Mysterious tapping noises are often heard. Strange smells are often experienced, including wood smoke, incense and a very smely dog. There are massive temperature drops. There are many strong energy lines. Strange misty fogs have been observed. Control objects move by themselves.

Hardly anybody visits Pengersick without having a strange and unexplainable experience.
The Ghost Club, The Ghost Research Foundation and several film crews (including BBC, Carlton, Channel 5 etc) have visited and achieved remarkable results.

Since the beginning of August 2001 ghost researcher Ian Addicoat has been hosting evenings at the castle for groups of people brave enough to spend the hours of darkness in this enigmatic property. There have been some unbelievable occurrences and some very sceptical people who have had their doubts blown away. Click here to see an account of some of the extraordinary events which have occurred in front of many startled witnesses during these evenings.
