Castle Horneck is a beautiful Georgian Manor House, with original ceilings and ornate stairway, former home to the famous Borlase family.
It is believed that there may have been an Iron Age settlement on the site, followed by a medieval castle, Elizabethan manor and eventually the present day Georgian House.
The whole house, as it exists today, is a complete mismatch of varying periods of history but still maintains a certain grandeur.
Many of the rooms and other areas have been sites of alleged witnessed supernatural or unexplained activity over the years and we have access to them all. The building is currently, used in season, as a Youth Hostel but still keeps its original charm and elegance.
